Zachary tells us about his Pontiac:
I found this car in my trial issue of  Smoke Signals.  I basically called about the car, just to compare information about my 1948 Pontiac Streamliner.  After talking to the owners I decided to look at the car. The condition that I found the car in was extremely impressive for being original.  The story behind the car is that it was sold new to an eighty-year-old gentleman in 1948.  After he passed away it sat in his estate until 1984 when the owner before me bought it.  It then moved to the county south of where it was originally sold.  The second owner bought it because his parents owned a '48.  It was repainted and
reupholstered in a local shop in 1984 and stored in a garage since then with the exception of several trips to state parks.  The car has always been stored in a garage and was never called to duty in the winter time. After the second owner passed away his widow placed an add in Smoke Signals hoping it would go to a Pontiac lover who would take care of the car. I assured her not to worry about that!
All of the registrations since1948 remained with the car as well as other repair documents and assorted literature and parts. The car now has 60,524 original documented miles.  My goal for the car is to maintain the condition and to get the two accessories that don't work fixed: the clock and the dashlights.  It is a pleasure to own two cars of the Pontiac's caliber.

P.S.  Thanks again for a 1948 Pontiac lover's dream come true.

When Zachary registered with his other Pontiac, he said he wanted to join POCI. Well I am glad he did and it looks like it paid off for him big time!  What a beauty!
Zachary also sent some more nice photos of both of his 48's in front of a house that he and his father spent three years building. His mother wanted "a new house that looked old", and they sure did a fine job of just that!
They still have some detailing to finish this winter. I am sure the two Pontiacs will keep them busy also.
                                      Thanks-Don

Here is the link to Zachary's other 48 page.   And here is a photo of both Pontiacs in front of the "new" house.
