Michael tells us about his Pontiac:
    This car was found in a junk yard in Oklahoma City.  The data plate has an 8 between the Paint No and ACC.  The ACC code has AK.  There is almost no chrome on the car. According to a book I read the chrome was stopped (Dec 15, 1941) being put on due to the war.  The only chrome are the bumpers fender top molding and trunk handle.
    The car had no keys but the trunk key for my 65 tempest fit everything.

    Mike,
    I am not sure of the meaning of the AK on your data plate but I have seen it before. I also am puzzled by the 8 you mentioned and have no idea where it belongs or what it means.  It may have been an attempt to fix the plate error  after the 8 cylinder was installed.
