About Art's Pontiac:
Art's Pontiac has a 6 cyl. engine and a standard transmission.
Art has owned his Pontiac since 1995. He describes it as "Original- being restored."
Art is a member of P.O.C.I. and his birthday is 9-17-44.
He will keep us posted on his progress. Good Luck.
Art tells us:
"I am originally from Wisconsin and about three years ago when I was home
visiting my parents, I saw this beauty sitting along the road "For Sale".  I
stopped and looked at the car and filed the event in an out of the way memory
cell.  When I returned to the Atlanta area, the memory of the car continued to
jump in the way more and more frequently.  Finally after three months, I
called the number I had taken down only to find out that the car was
tentatively sold.  A person from Milwaukee was supposedly on the way out that
afternoon to buy it.  On a chance, I asked if he had money in his hand within
an hour if he would call it sold.  He told me that the first dollar took the
car.  I immediately said good-bye and called the parents.  They went
immediately to the car and gave the man the money.  Whew!!! That was close.
Now I had a '48 Pontiac in Wisconsin and I lived in Georgia.  A year later, my
parents drove a big motor home to Texas by way of Georgia and surprised me
with the '48 on a hauler towed behind the "bus".
I have been looking for a few parts since then and also looking for a whole
lot of time to begin restoration.  I can see that the time is soon coming
available and I will update this information with the progress."

Art Updates us on his progress:
Here is an update on my '48.  Last week I sold a '53 Chevy Sport Coupe.  The guy that bought it owns a replating/rechroming  automobile restoration business in the Atlanta area.  (Good Fortune)Yesterday I went to his business to talk to him and today it rides on a flatbed truck to the Restoration House. When it gets there, we will have a better idea of the time needed to complete the project.  My guess - a couple of years.  I am so excited to get this project underway.  I will keep you posted  6-23-98
Art has sent me quite a few pictures of his 48 in "various states of undress". I will include all of them in the Pontiac Archives Page coming soon. Somehow the work in progress pictures seem to make us feel the proudest when we look back a few years later and remember how far we have come.
