Two more pictures of Ron's Convertible
A before picture      and     one for the road (or tree as it were!)
Ron tells us about his Pontiac:
I have tried unsuccessfully to get into older Pontiacs several times over the last couple of years, and could not find the magic words on the net. Tody I decided to just try 1948 Pontiac, and it worked. My car instead of having a D at the end of the style number, has a DX. We have been curious to know how many convertibles are still in exstience.
The car is powered by a 454 Chevy engine with a turbo 400 transmission. Otherwise the car has been kept original. When I bought the car, the hood and head was off and the engine was froze solid, however I still have the original engine and transmission.
We went to the Redwoods last year for their rod run in Garberville. The pictures you received were from our trip to the rod run in Ferndale in 92, right after the earthquake. We got long distance open both times.

        Ron,
Nice car Ron. Looks like you get to enjoy it and that is the best thing of all. I really like the other photos you sent me, especially the one driving through the giant Redwood tree!  It was striking to see because I know exactly where that tree is. I visited the Redwoods many times as a kid on camping trips with the family.
I also appreciated the numbers you sent me from your 48-2519 parts car. I have added them to the database. Let us know if you want to sell any parts.
I will try to track down the glove boxes that were for sale by an ETC member a few years ago. I hope he still has some left.
                                                                                                                                            Thanks-Don
