Linda wrote me about her son's Pontiac:
I found your address on the Classical Pontiac page '40s
section. My 17 year old had a summer job clearing a 6 acre lot nearby and
this car was overgrown with brush sitting there in the woods. The property
owner told him he could have it!
A bulldozer has cleared a "road" right past it now,
so it shouldn't be too hard to load up. His plan is to sell it as is.
That's why we're trying to figure out what it is - so we can advertise.
We're in Washington state about an hour north of Olympia. Now that we know
what to look for and where to look, I'm sure we'll be able to identify
it. I'll pass the info on to you probably within the next couple
of days......-Thanks for sending the plate info!
We finally got back over to the car and got the
numbers off of the firewall. As a matter of fact, we made a second
trip to be sure of the 48-2609. This must be one of those that you
mentioned on your page where the plate was pre-stamped for a six-cyl. and
the 8 cylinder was put in .
The man who bought the property where the car is
sitting does not have a title. We're hoping that the previous property
owner may have it and are we looking into that.
Any suggestions on how much to sell this
for? More pictures are attached
and, once again, you are welcome to use them. Your page is GREAT!
That must have taken a lot of time to put together - looks like "everything
you ever wanted to know" is on there.
Will let you know what kind of history we can put
together. As soon as we figure out a price,
it's for sale! Working on getting it home this next week
-
Thanks again, Linda
-Hey guys any offers out there?
Hey
Linda- Thanks for the kind words. It was, and still is a lot of work!
Here are the other pictures you sent.
Good luck on the move and be careful!

How to contact Linda: Phone is 360-275-2253
and address.....Olympia is close enough! (We're on a little private
island in the Puget Sound that would be hopeless to find on a map!)

Linda also wrote the other day:
.....Just got home from a wonderful bike ride (Harley) along the Hood Canal
and on up towards Port Angeles. I'm sure I live in one of the most
beautiful states this country has to offer.
-I would have to agree. I passed within a few miles of your place last
month. Wish I knew about the 48. I would have stopped by and checked it
out in person!
