pride of ownership of the
1942
Canadian Metropolitan 4 Door Sedan*
as
identified below :

* I have referred to this car as a Metropolitan
4 door sedan. That is the equivalent U.S. model. The Canadian models are
named differently, so I am looking for information for Canadian model names.
This car was built with a 116 in. wheelbase and a six cyl. engine that
I suspect may be a Chevrolet. Can anyone tell us more about this?
Dale and Roxanne tell us about their Canadian manufactured
Pontiac:
We live in Canada and have just bought a 1942 Pontiac but we are
having problems finding out which model this car is. It is a Canadian model
and an appraiser said there's not much documentation on this model because
it is Canadian. I was wondering if you could tell me if it is a torpedo,
streamliner or chieftain. I appreciate your help. Do you know of any good
place to get parts for this car or any places in Canada or U.S. that makes
reproduction parts?
Paint 248 <-- Not
sure of this color but we think the car was Grey. I do have an origanal
1941 - 42 Reference manual. An older fellow from the pre war tells me that
my car is a Chief or Chieftian. Since it's a sedan and per the service
manual I have, it says a 2000 series 1942 model of 116 wheelbase with a
6 cyl engine is called a FLEETLEADER. But my friend says ya
it's a Fleetleader but it's also a Cheif as per all the chrome decals on
the car. I will scan some of the info pages from this book and send
them off to you.
Hope You enjoy the pics as much as I enjoy
driving ( EDNA ), Named after my grandmother. She would have loved the
old girl. The car has 62 thousand orig miles. NO RUST! She runs great,
other than needing a lifter adjustment. Maybe a new electrical system
down the road..Like we all know....Parts are hard to come by.....I need
a new (Re Molded) steering wheel... I would love to find an original deluxe
radio and antenna. (Anyone out there have one)! A lot of people out here
keep telling me to chop the old girl and drop a 454 into Edna but whats
the point. I will always keep it like new. (Don:
We thank you for that!)
I was thinking if you need better pictures just let me know and
I'll take Edna to the park and redo them. I got your second message so
i will log into your site and send you the info you asked for. Talk
to ya later and keep up the great job on the site. cheers from the
spears....
