Larry tells us about his Pontiac:
My dad bought this car in1964 for me to drive as first car. I drove it for years and then my sister drove it. It has been in a pole building for the last 20 years and I am going to move it into my garage this year to begin restoring it. I have a lot of interior work to do but the engine has only 46,000 miles on it. Everything is stock except the grill. It has a 1946 Pontiac grill instead of the original 1942, minor fender bender in the 60's.
The car was purchased in Salem, Oregon. The previous owner was old and he only drove it for about 30,000 miles and then the state took his license away since his eyesight had gotten so bad. He put it up on blocks in his garage and left it. My Dad had a Television/Radio shop in Salem and was installing a stereo system for the owner of car and saw it in his garage. My Dad told the man that he had a son (me) who was turning 16 and would need a car to drive. So  the deal was closed and we have had the car in the family since then. I drove it between 1964 to 1966 when I left to serve in the Air Force. My sister then drove it for a couple of years. We put on about 16,000 miles on it and then it pretty much sat after that. With the moisture here the interior will need a lot of work but the exterior has done pretty well. The last twenty years it has been under cover.
I didn't think too much of the car when I was driving it in high school. It was considered old back then. The mid "60's" were the time of muscle cars and unlimited gas. The car was unique and did turn a lot of heads. I would take it out cruising the strip. It was dependable and didn't need much care. We were once stopped by a State Farm agent, who said he would buy the car to have the license plate holder. It has an old State Farm ring around the rear plate. I may have to check on that some more.
Anyway, I plan on moving it into my garage by the end of the year. I have a 1984 Nissan 300ZX that I was going to redo but may sell it to clear the spot in the garage. Always seem to have some project vehicle in there. The last couple of years, the project was a 1972 Toyota Lancruiser that belongs to my son. There is a lot of work to be done. Well, this is getting long but
that's because I'm getting more excited about fixing up the old Pontiac.
Thanks for your help and I'll keep in touch. - Larry

Hey, let me know if anyone else's first car is in the registry. Larry may be the first one I have heard about. Also although he is not the first model 2527 owner to contact me, he was the first to send a picture and get online. I have asked Larry to send a side profile and a rear view so we can get a better look at this "rare body style".
