E-mail me your ads for 42-48 Pontiac cars
or parts and I will post them below.

mailto:torpedo1@pcmagic.net
Unfortunately we don't have the resources for our cars
that many makes do. Almost nothing is reproduced for our cars unlike some
models such as the 55-57 Chevys where you can easily find any chrome or
plastic part you need. Does anybody out there need new radio
knobs or a steering wheel? I wish there were some new ones out there.
Maybe we can organize and find somebody or someway to make these
parts available.

Here's the description from the ebay page:
1947 Pontiac, 2 Door, 6 Cylinder, Standard Transmission,
Black, in original condition (paint and interior). This Car was "found"
a few years ago (1992) in a Garage in New Jersey. I was told that the Car
had been kept in the Garage since it had been taken off the road in the
late '50's. When I purchased it, I had it flat bedded to my home (in PA)
where I tuned it up, changed the oil and fluids, some hoses, the fan belt,
Carburetor, Battery and replaced the brakes, tires and shocks and did some
cleaning (dust and such from the ORIGINAL interior!) I waxed the exterior
and registered it (with regular plates -- it passed PA State Inspection)
and drove it about 300 miles. I then put it into storage in my Garage (letting
the registration run out). It currently needs an exhaust system, but other
then that, it runs well. Mechanically this car is in very good condition,
some minor rust on some of the Chrome. The odometer shows 46,169 miles.
Payment can be cashiers check, money order, or cash when picked up. Delivery
or pick up to be arranged between buyer and seller, but at the buyers expense.
1946 Pontiac 46-2607 six cyl , 2 door car. I have owned
it for over 21 years in which it has always been garaged. The car
is 99.9% there but needs to be completed. Has all NOS chrome, windows,
and both rear fenders which were replaced because of dents only, no rust.
Many other parts. The only rust is on rockers which I have NOS.
The car has 69,000 miles and through research have located the three previous
owners. This car is too good to part out. Car is in Central New York
and is towable. Asking $1750.

I have run across a 47 Pontiac that is all original with 37,000
miles. It
has original paint, engine, interior, ect. I believe it is a two door
and I
don't know the engine size. It is not currently running but it is together
and in very nice shape cosmetically given that it is all original.
They are
asking $2000 for it . I know this is not very much info to go on but
is this
price out of line. Thanks for your time and effort.

Hi Don,
My friend is restoring a 1948 Pontiac and it has a rear end with a
11 tooth pinion gear and a ring gear with 41 teeth for a 4:1 to 1 ratio.
This makes the car far to slow. I don't know how to enter a parts wanted
ad so am sending the request directly to you. We need an 11 tooth pinion
gear with a 39 tooth ring gear which would give us a 3:54 to 1 ratio. One
other possibility would be a 11 and 40 which would give us a 3:63 to 1
ratio.
Would appreciate it if you would place a parts wanted ad on the above.
Contact me at (360) 427-7071.
Many thanks. John Gilmore (John has
sent me photos and his info for his 48. and his page is now online, also
would like to do the same for his friend.)

Hi Don,
We found a ring and pinion gear for my friends 1948 Pontiac so
you can remove it from the classified section.
However I need a really good (unpitted) emblem that fits below
the rear license plate just above the trunk handle. It has the name
Pontiac in raised letters on it. Mine is so badly pitted they had to grind
it down so far it is hardly readable.
The part is for my 1948 Streamline Deluxe.

Mike Padilla who is restoring a 46 for the San Joaquin Police Dept.
asked me:
Any ideas on where to get a new red head dress for the Indian on the
hood? Ours is nearly bleached clear and has little cracks in it.
I am looking for a 46 Pontiac Grill or Grill Parts that are in good
condition. Some rust and pitting is OK. I do not intend to re-chrome the
grill, but to leave it in original used condition. I'm particularly interested
in the grill molding that holds the Chieftain medallion. I appreciate any
help.
Thanks, John Hohman
